Announcements & Connections 10/14/23
Dear TBC Family and Friends,
We finally had a morning of soccer! Probably the only thing bad about the day was the fact that it was cold! I am already wearing two layers. This winter does not look good for me at all. But it was still a great time to be outside with the kids and interacting with people on the sidelines.
Please join us for corporate worship tomorrow as we sing praises to Him and sit under His word. We will be continuing our series in Ecclesiastes and will be taking a look at Solomon's thoughts on wisdom when we live in a world that looks like it's all guided by chance. How are we supposed to respond? Is godly wisdom even something important to pursue if life is left to chance? Come tomorrow morning and find out!
Please also join us Sunday Evening as the Teens will be conducting the service. There will be a great time of singing and sharing by the teens. It is always an encouraging time to hear how God is working in their lives. Be an encouragement to them and be encouraged by them!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. DEACON NOMINATIONS: It's time for our members to nominate 3 men to serve as deacons at TBC! We will be voting on 2 new deacons of the top three affirmed nominees on November 5th. Please look at the list of TBC men who have been members for more than 1 year. This list also includes the qualifications for deacons as described in our Constitution. We encourage you to talk with the people you would like to nominate to see if they would be willing to serve as a deacon. All nominations should be received by Sunday, October 22nd either by replying to this email or by submitting a ballot (ask an usher for your ballot).
2. TEEN PREGLOW & SERVICE: All teens are invited to come for a fun time of food, fellowship, and encouragement from God's Word. This is a great opportunity for teens to invite a friend to church. This PREGLOW will be hosted by the Rodriguez’s in the TBC gym. It will run from approximately 12:15 PM to 2:15 PM. Teens will be rehearsing for the teen service at 4:30pm. Teens can stay through the afternoon at the church or come back for 4:30pm. The teens will be leading the evening service this Sunday evening. Please plan to come out and support them and hear what God is doing in the lives of our teens!
3. NEW MEMBERSHIP CLASS: If you are interested in becoming a member of TBC, Pastor Rowley would love to have you join his class at 9:15am on Sundays in the gym.
4. TBC WOMEN: Any women who want to discuss the book Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund can come at 1:15pm this Thursday the 12th (meet in the gym) or at 6pm next Thursday, the 19th. Let Melanie know if you need childcare for the 1:15pm meeting.
5. BABY SHOWER: All ladies and girls are invited to an open house style baby shower for Hannah Harper on Saturday, October 21st from 10am-12pm, in the Fellowship Hall at TBC. Hannah is registered at Amazon. See Annette van Achterberg with any questions.
6. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Every week we need about 30 volunteers to cover all weekly classes at TBC! We are looking for more help in all areas of children's ministry from nursery to Junior Church to Sunday evening kids ministry. If you would like to be a teacher, sub, or helper, as long as you are 16 or older and are willing to get background checked, we would love to see if we can find a place for you! Please see Hannah Bush if you're interested.
7. NEW MEMBERS: On Sunday, October 22nd, we will be voting on the following candidates for becoming new members of our church: Joe & Ana Lopez, Leah Lopez, John & Maria Paull, and Samantha Thoma.
8. PARENTING CONFERENCE: A local Christian homeschool organization is hosting a "Biblical Discipleship Parenting" seminar at our church on Friday, October 27th from 1-8pm. If you would like more information or want to purchase tickets to attend, you can visit the TEACH website at this link.
9. HARVEST BANQUET TICKETS: It's time to start purchasing your Harvest Banquet tickets ($10 each)! You can use this link to pay online or see Stacey Lavers to purchase a ticket in person. The Harvest Banquet will be November 4th at 5:30pm with meetings with the Coffey team following from November 5-8th.
10. BAPTISM: If you would like to demonstrate your faith publicly through believer's baptism, please let Pastor Eli know. Our next baptism will be held on November 12th.
11. CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM REHEARSALS: Connie Greenwood has started Christmas program music rehearsals for children ages 6-12 on Sunday evenings from 6-7pm. All children who want to participate in larger portion of the program should come to most of the 10 Sunday evening rehearsals. They should also be available for at least one of the dress rehearsals (but ideally both) on December 3rd and 10th during the 9:15am hour and the program at 6pm on December 10th. If your child cannot attend the Sunday evening rehearsals but does want to participate in one or two Christmas carols with all the kids, please plan to attend both dress rehearsals. Sunday, 9:15am - Teachings of Jesus
Join us as we work through Jesus' sermon from Matthew 5-7. We will discuss the reality of living as followers of Christ in the presence and power of the Kingdom of God within our everyday world. This class meets in the upstairs Gym Adult Classroom across the balcony.
Sunday, 9:15am – The Covenants (Zoom By Request)
The Covenant's class is a study of the 7 key promises (covenants) that God makes to mankind and Israel in His restoration of all things back to His original design, including the Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosaic, Palestinian, Davidic and New Covenants. If curious ask Skip Mission for more details. Anyone is invited to join. This class meets in the classroom across from the church office.
Sunday, 9:15am - Discipleship Training Class
Kevin Tower is teaching a 12-15 week class for those interested in getting training in how to become an effective disciple maker. We encourage all regular attenders to attend this class at some point! This class meets in a classroom down below the auditorium lobby. Anyone is invited to join!
Sunday, 9:15am - Ladies' Bible Study and Prayer
Beth Mission is teaching an Old Testament survey class to women. They meet in a classroom in the gymnasium. All ladies are welcome.
Sunday, 9:15am – Holy Sexuality Class
We are covering a series for parents with tweens/teens called Holy Sexuality. This Biblically founded and very pertinent series will run through the end of December. This class is meeting in the classroom across from the teen room upstairs in the gym. Anyone is invited to join!
Sunday, 9:15am - The Book of 1st Peter (In Person & Zoom)
This class is studying the book of 1st Peter. We are seeing that Almighty God has called us out of an idolatrous, demonic world to be His ETERNAL ambassadors of light for Him in time. We are also seeing our ETERNAL position in Christ, contrary to that of a subjective, demonic position of darkness. We will pray from 9:15-9:30 and have some brief fellowship before diving into the Bible and discussions right around 9:30am. Anyone is welcome to join in the Young Adult room in the gym.
Sunday, 9:15am - Membership Class (Zoom By Request)
Pastor Rowley is teaching a rotating class focusing on what we believe and why. This class has time for Q&A each week and meets in the gym. Anyone is invited to join at any time.
Sunday, 10:30am - SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE
The livestream can be accessed on Facebook and YouTube and our website 10-15 minutes before the start of the service.
Sunday, 10:50am - Junior Church
Junior Church is for children ages 2-11 and begins after the morning worship time in the auditorium.

This life group meets in Windsor Locks at the Rodriguez's home and is discussing the topic of Biblical Principles for Family Living. Anyone is invited to join. Children are welcome.
Wednesday, 7:00pm - Teen Group
Any teens are invited to join in the teen room at church. Pastor Rodriguez leads the teen group.
Wednesday, 7:00pm - Rudy Nelson Life Group
This life group is studying the book of James. Anyone is invited to join at church.

Anyone is invited to join via Zoom.
