Announcements & Connection Opportunities 9/14/24
Dear TBC Family and Friends,
I am truly grateful for the many blessings we see taking place in our church -- great church attendances, exciting start to the soccer season and people genuinely listening to the gospel. As our world is descending into chaos, we have the only message that can give genuine hope. Keep being faithful!
Sunday morning we will look at some marks of a great church that focuses on a great Savior -- Colossians 2:1-5. Keep praying for God to work in bringing visitors and speaking to all our hearts.
Sunday evening I would like to pull out a paper I wrote many years ago on "Biblical Church Government". I have had several people asking me about this subject. I will present what I believe the Bible teaches on this subject. Please come with your thinking caps on! At the end Rob Hanover will come and give us an update on the Tuttles in the country of Georgia. Don't worry, we will be done by 7!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. VOTING ON NEW MEMBERS: We will be voting on Dom & Cindy Laduca as potential new members this Sunday, September 15th.
2. CLASSROOM CHANGE: The Art of Marriage Adult Bible Fellowship class that meets at 9:15 upstairs in the gym is moving to a different classroom upstairs in the gym. Please walk across the balcony to the first classroom you come to. Anyone is invited to join this class at any time!
3. FREE BOOK! Pastor Rowley is highly recommending that everyone download a free PDF copy of the book Surviving Religion 101, by Michael Kruger, an accessible book that equips families for good conversations about challenges to faith, helping us trade panic and doubt for blessed assurance. Pastor Rowley intends to use parts of this book in some Sunday evening services.
4. WOMEN'S MINISTRY RETREAT: All ladies are invited to attend our first women's ministry retreat at TBC on Saturday, September 28th, from 9:30am - 3:30pm. Heather Spada, a local Biblical Counselor, will be speaking to us on the topic of being transformed by understanding our identity in Christ (from Romans 12:1-2 and other Scriptures). All ladies and girls ages 12 and up are invited to attend. We will be having a catered lunch, a time of worship, some interactive and fun activities, and a panel discussion as well! Come and enjoy this retreat as we start this new season of women's ministry at TBC! The cost is $20, but if that's a hardship in any way, please let Melanie know, and we will have a scholarship available for you. You can invite a friend as well! 5. HARVEST BANQUET HELP: If you would like to be a part of our annual outreach dinner, the Harvest Banquet, please meet up front in the auditorium with Dave Pepe after the morning service on September 22nd. We can use help from teens on up! We need servers, baristas, line runners, cooks, set up, take down, decorations, program, and more! We have a place for you to serve! The Harvest Banquet is on Saturday, November 16th at 5:30pm.
6. WEEKEND TO REMEMBER MARRIAGE GETAWAY: The cost of registration for FamilyLife’s Weekend to Remember marriage getaway is currently 1/2 off, now through September 16. The WTR is coming to the Windsor Marriott October 4-6. It will be a great time of reconnecting with your spouse and strengthening your marriage. Register now and invest in your marriage! 7. GREETERS NEEDED: We are looking for people who feel God would have them help in the greeter ministry at TBC. Qualifications involve regular church attendance at TBC, an ability to show up at your scheduled time, a warm smile, and most importantly a heart of hospitality. If you would like to know more about this ministry, please see one of the greeters on Sunday morning, Crystal van Achterberg, or reply to this email.
8. PARKING REQUEST: If you are able and willing, we could use a few volunteers to park in the grass on Sunday mornings to make a little more room for late comers and visitors. Please see Chuck Jutras or Rudy Nelson if you have any questions.
9. WEDDING INVITATION: Everyone at TBC is invited to Hannah Bush and Ryan Kruse’s wedding at noon on November 9th at TBC followed by a lunch reception in the gymnasium. Please let Hannah know if you plan to attend the wedding and/or the reception by September 15th. Children are welcome. In lieu of gifts, Hannah and Ryan would love any sort of note you’d like to send for them to read on their drive to PA.

Sunday, 9:15am - Ladies' Bible Study and Prayer
Sometimes our joy as Christians seems to fade with all of the pressures and cares of this life. Join the ladies as Diane LaCasse leads them through a study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians that reminds them, and us, that our true joy is found in Jesus Christ! They meet in a classroom in the gymnasium. All ladies are welcome.
Sunday, 9:15am – Art of Marriage
Eli & Madeline are heading up the Art of Marriage series designed to inspire and equip today’s couples: whether newly married, seasoned, empty nesters, or part of a blended family. The series presents six aspects of God’s powerful and perfect love, and how it can be be understood and applied to our lives and our marriages, in light of who we are in Christ. This class meets upstairs in the gym, and anyone is invited!
Sunday, 9:15am - The Book of 1st Peter (In Person & Zoom)
This class is studying the book of 1st Peter. We are seeing that Almighty God has called us out of an idolatrous, demonic world to be His ETERNAL ambassadors of light for Him in time. We are also seeing our ETERNAL position in Christ, contrary to that of a subjective, demonic position of darkness. We will pray from 9:15-9:30 and have some brief fellowship before diving into the Bible and discussions right around 9:30am. Anyone is welcome to join in the Young Adult room in the gym.
Sunday, 9:15am - Membership Class (Zoom By Request)
Pastor Rowley is teaching a rotating class focusing on what we believe and why we believe it. This class has time for Q&A each week and meets in the gym. Anyone is invited to join at any time.
Sunday, 10:30am - SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE
The livestream can be accessed on Facebook and YouTube and our website 10-15 minutes before the start of the service.
Sunday, 10:50am - Junior Church
Junior Church is for children ages 2-11 and begins after the morning worship time in the auditorium.

This life group is studying the life of Christ through the Gospels. Anyone is invited to join in person at church.
