Announcements & Connection Opportunities 8/31/24
Dear TBC Family and Friends,
Tomorrow morning we have the opportunity to have Todd and Sarah Hudson with us. They have been missionaries in Vienna, Austria for many years. They have done a great job in the midst of many challenges. The Islamic population has greatly increased in Austria as well as many other countries. Todd is a great preacher, a great missionary and he and Sarah are great parents. You will not want to miss them.
They will be with us also in the evening to present more about their field and answer questions. I am interested to see if he can give us ideas of how to witness to Muslims. That is a group of people I have not been successful in gospelizing. They can answer questions on almost any subject including family and child raising. Don't miss Sunday evening.
We want to keep Maria Vargas lifted up in prayer as she has had two losses recently. Her husband, Jose, died a few months ago and this past week her mother died.
Also remember Jay Van Achterberg and his family as his mother's memorial service was today.
I love you and trust God will keep you lifted up.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. NEW MEMBERS CLASS: Beginning this Sunday, September 1st, Pastor Rowley will be starting a new Adult Bible Fellowship class that meets in the gym at 9:15am on Sunday mornings for anyone interested in learning more about becoming a member and the core doctrines we believe. Even if you're not sure if you want to be a member, this class is for you!
2. MISSIONARY VISIT: We will have Todd and Sara Hudson, our missionaries to Austria, with us this Sunday, September 1st.
3. NEW AGES FOR JUNIOR CHURCH: Beginning this Sunday, September 1st, Children's Junior Church and evening church will be for kids ages 2-9 years old. Children 10 years old and older should remain in the sanctuary with their parents. Please reach out to Amy Pepe or Hannah Bush if you have any questions.
4. VITAL CHURCH VISIT: Vital Church will be presenting the results of our church-wide survey on Sunday, September 8th from approximately 1-3pm. Childcare will be provided. We will also have a pizza fellowship lunch following the morning service, and we are asking everyone to bring at least $1/person and a large salad or dessert to share. We will not have an evening service that night. A Zoom link will be provided for those who cannot attend the afternoon in person.
5. LADIES' TASTE OF FELLOWSHIP: All ladies are invited to attend our next Taste of Fellowship at Artisanal Burger in Manchester, CT at 6pm on Monday, September 9th. Please RSVP to Melanie or reply to this email if you plan to attend. Everyone pays for their own meal. Feel free to bring a friend!
6. WEEKEND TO REMEMBER MARRIAGE GETAWAY: The cost of registration for FamilyLife’s Weekend to Remember marriage getaway is currently 1/2 off, now through September 16. The WTR is coming to the Windsor Marriott October 4-6. It will be a great time of reconnecting with your spouse and strengthening your marriage. Register now and invest in your marriage! 7. GREETERS NEEDED: We are looking for people who feel God would have them help in the greeter ministry at TBC. Qualifications involve regular church attendance at TBC, an ability to show up at your scheduled time, a warm smile, and most importantly a heart of hospitality. If you would like to know more about this ministry, please see one of the greeters on Sunday morning, Crystal van Achterberg, or reply to this email.
8. WOMEN'S MINISTRY RETREAT: All ladies are invited to attend our first women's ministry retreat at TBC on Saturday, September 28th, from 9:30am - 3:30pm. Heather Spada, a local Biblical Counselor, will be speaking to us on the topic of being transformed by understanding our identity in Christ (from Romans 12:1-2 and other Scriptures). All ladies and girls ages 12 and up are invited to attend. We will be having a catered lunch, a time of worship, some interactive and fun activities, and a panel discussion as well! Come and enjoy this retreat as we start this new season of women's ministry at TBC! The cost is $20, but if that's a hardship in any way, please let Melanie know, and we will have a scholarship available for you. You can invite a friend as well! 9. SOCCER LINK FOR REGISTRATION - ROUND 2: The soccer league is getting full! If you haven't registered, please visit our website and register ASAP! We want to make this ministry a community outreach, so please also invite your neighbors and unchurched friends! If you have any questions on this please reach out to Keith Tower.
10. WEDDING INVITATION: Everyone at TBC is invited to Hannah Bush and Ryan Kruse’s wedding at noon on November 9th at TBC followed by a lunch reception in the gymnasium. Please let Hannah know if you plan to attend the wedding and/or the reception by September 15th. Children are welcome. In lieu of gifts, Hannah and Ryan would love any sort of note you’d like to send for them to read on their drive to PA.

Sometimes our joy as Christians seems to fade with all of the pressures and cares of this life. Join the ladies as Diane LaCasse leads them through a study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians that reminds them, and us, that our true joy is found in Jesus Christ! They meet in a classroom in the gymnasium. All ladies are welcome.
Sunday, 9:15am – Art of Marriage
Eli & Madeline are heading up the Art of Marriage series designed to inspire and equip today’s couples: whether newly married, seasoned, empty nesters, or part of a blended family. The series presents six aspects of God’s powerful and perfect love, and how it can be be understood and applied to our lives and our marriages, in light of who we are in Christ. This class meets upstairs in the gym, and anyone is invited!
Sunday, 9:15am - The Book of 1st Peter (In Person & Zoom)
This class is studying the book of 1st Peter. We are seeing that Almighty God has called us out of an idolatrous, demonic world to be His ETERNAL ambassadors of light for Him in time. We are also seeing our ETERNAL position in Christ, contrary to that of a subjective, demonic position of darkness. We will pray from 9:15-9:30 and have some brief fellowship before diving into the Bible and discussions right around 9:30am. Anyone is welcome to join in the Young Adult room in the gym.
Sunday, 9:15am - Membership Class (Zoom By Request)
Pastor Rowley is teaching a rotating class focusing on what we believe and why we believe it. This class has time for Q&A each week and meets in the gym. Anyone is invited to join at any time.
Sunday, 10:30am - SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE
The livestream can be accessed on Facebook and YouTube and our website 10-15 minutes before the start of the service.
Sunday, 10:50am - Junior Church
Junior Church is for children ages 2-11 and begins after the morning worship time in the auditorium.

This life group is studying "The Power of Giving Thanks." Anyone is invited to join at church.

This life group is studying the life of Christ through the Gospels. Anyone is invited to join in person at church.
