Dear TBC Family and Friends,
This past week has given Deanna and I a new appreciation for Connecticut. We spent from Monday thru Friday visiting San Diego. Besides taking a tour of the USS Midway aircraft carrier, we drove through many neighborhoods often stopping to check how much Zillow said the houses were worth. Run-down, small modular houses were $450K and up. The average small house is $950K. Most of the houses like the ones average people in our church live in would be $1.2 million to $3 million. People said it is almost impossible for average people to buy a house, and taxes are very expensive. We have a lot for which to be thankful! Our wealth, however, is not from houses and lands because we are citizens of heaven and have a great inheritance waiting for us because of Christ's sacrifice and free gift!
Tomorrow morning we have the opportunity to have Ray Hoover, our missionary to Ethiopia, speak to us. He is always a great encouragement and will leave you with a greater desire to serve God. If the Lord lays a burden on your heart to give a love offering for that ministry, please do so. They are doing a great work there.
Sunday evening we have our Men's and Women's ministries which have been very encouraging. Please come and invite a friend. We will enjoy a baked potato fellowship together afterward. If you are able please bring a large portion of your favorite baked potato toppings and/or a dessert.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. MEN'S & WOMEN'S MINISTRY & FELLOWSHIP: The men and the women (including teens age 12 and up) will meet separately for a time of encouragement and community this Sunday evening, April 28th, at 6pm. We will have a baked potato fellowship meal following the meetings around 7:15pm. For the fellowship, please bring one or some of the following toppings to share with everyone: a large portion of chili or meat topping, broccoli or other healthy baked potato toppings, your favorite toppings such as bacon, cheese, sour cream, chives, etc, a large dessert, or something else related to baked potatoes. The church will provide the baked potatoes. Please bring enough toppings/dessert for your family plus a few extra people.
2. SUMMER SUPPER SIX: Join our Summer Supper Six for a fun time of dinner connection from June through August! Participants will be placed in groups of 6-8 to share monthly dinners, with each member contributing a dish each time you meet. Dinners can be hosted at a member's home (hosting responsibilities can rotate) or at the church’s Fellowship Hall or Gym—please coordinate with Melanie for reserving church space. Sign up by texting SUPPER to 860-289-8976 or by clicking this link by May 15th, and enjoy great food and fellowship this summer! Singles and couples 18 years old and older can sign up. No childcare will be provided, but some groups will be child friendly, if needed. If you have any questions, please see Melanie or reply to this email.
3. MOTHER'S DAY VIDEO: If you would like to submit 1-2 photos of an important mother figure in your life for our annual Mother's Day video, please email your pictures to Isaiah Rodriguez at isaiahrod.tbc@gmail.com as soon as possible before April 30th. We are asking for no more than 2 photos per mother.
4. CHILDREN'S MINISTRY MEETING: All Children's Ministry volunteers should mark your calendars for a brief volunteer luncheon and meeting in the Fellowship Hall right after morning service on Sunday, May 5th.
5. VBS REGISTRATION IS OPEN: VBS registration is open! Please visit our website to register, and invite your friends ages 4-12 years. VBS is July 8th - 12th, 6:30pm - 8:30pm at TBC. If you would like to teach or help with VBS, please let Hannah Bush know. We need many hands!

Come discuss how and why we need to evangelize! It's not too late to join this class that Skip Mission is teaching. Anyone is invited to join. This class meets in the classroom across from the church office.
Sunday, 9:15am - Discipleship Training Class
Kevin Tower is teaching a 12-15 week class for those interested in getting training in how to become an effective disciple maker. We encourage all regular attenders to attend this class at some point! This class meets in a classroom down below the auditorium lobby. Anyone is invited to join!
Sunday, 9:15am - Ladies' Bible Study and Prayer
Beth Mission is teaching on the topic of Lament from Psalms. They meet in a classroom in the gymnasium. All ladies are welcome.
Sunday, 9:15am – Love In Chaos
Jesse and Kim Christophel are doing a study called Love In Chaos by Bob Goff. How should Christians respond to the chaos in our world today? We will discuss what it looks like to follow Jesus and obey his commands. Each session will start with a 10 minute video, followed by discussion, scripture reading, and prayer together.
Sunday, 9:15am - The Book of 1st Peter (In Person & Zoom)
This class is studying the book of 1st Peter. We are seeing that Almighty God has called us out of an idolatrous, demonic world to be His ETERNAL ambassadors of light for Him in time. We are also seeing our ETERNAL position in Christ, contrary to that of a subjective, demonic position of darkness. We will pray from 9:15-9:30 and have some brief fellowship before diving into the Bible and discussions right around 9:30am. Anyone is welcome to join in the Young Adult room in the gym.
Sunday, 9:15am - Membership Class (Zoom By Request)
Pastor Rowley is teaching a rotating class focusing on what we believe and why we believe it. This class has time for Q&A each week and meets in the gym. Anyone is invited to join at any time.
Sunday, 10:30am - SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE

Junior Church is for children ages 2-11 and begins after the morning worship time in the auditorium.
