Announcements & Connection Opportunites 11/2/24
Dear TBC Family and Friends,
Today was a tremendous day for the final soccer tournament. There were so many cars that all the parking spaces and the entire front lawn was covered with cars -- even the Harper's driveway. The kids did their best and there were many hard fought and very close games. Keith Tower did a great job getting across a clear and very interesting gospel message. With so many people and children there, it was amazing that everyone was listening carefully to his words. Please pray that God would use His truth to speak to the hearts of unsaved people.
We have many people in our church who are skilled at mathematics. Tomorrow we are going to look at a divine mathematical equation -- one that only makes sense when you know the true and living God.
Sunday evening we will have a Family meeting in which the deacons will present some options for the church moving forward. Please pray that God will give a genuine spirit of wisdom, love and unity as we think about the future. We also will be having a cake fellowship after the family meeting to have some time to say goodbye to Hannah Bush as she moves away. She's been a huge blessing to our church family!
Keep serving God -- it is worth it now and certainly in the future.
I love you all,
PR
PS - We are sorry this email accidentally didn't get sent out yesterday!

ESTHER - 2024 TRUTH TEENS DRAMA: This play follows the Biblical account of Queen Esther, as she is taken from her Jewish home in Susa into the palace of the King of Persia and chosen to become Queen of the land. We walk with Esther as she struggles to trust God's purpose for her life, and experience the peril of the people of Israel as they are threatened by the Prime Minister, Haman. The drama is appropriate for all ages, and everyone is invited to attend. Performances are free, but tickets are required. Concessions will be available for sale before and during the intermission of each performance. Show times are December 6th (7pm) & 7th (2pm & 7pm).
6. CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: Beginning this Sunday, October 27th, all Jr. Church kids (2-9 years) will begin rehearsing for the Christmas program. All kids should meet in the Jr. Church room when dismissed from the sanctuary. All teachers will be in the main JC classroom for the 20 min rehearsal and will bring the children to their designated classroom after. Parents should pick their children up in their normal assigned classroom. Please mark your calendars for the Children’s Christmas Program, Sunday evening December 15th at 6pm.
7. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: We have 4 ways to get involved with OCC this year. 1. Drop off supplies to fill boxes in the church office (look here for great gift ideas) anytime between now and Sunday, November 17th. 2. Sponsor shipping charges for as many boxes as you can. We need 75 sponsorships. Use this link or the link below to purchase sponsorships. 3. Come to a drop-in packing party in the auditorium from 7-8:30pm on Wednesday, November 20th. Help us build boxes. Kids are welcome to come help! 4. Grab a box (or two or more) from the church lobby and pack it at home. Bring it back already packed anytime before Wednesday, November 20th.
8. NEW CHURCH-WIDE STUDY: Everyone is invited to join a small group to work through the book Resolving Everyday Conflict that began this week! Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers." But how can we restore harmony to our relationships? Ken Sande and Kevin Johnson explore the nature of conflict and offer biblical steps to heal disputes. Discover how to see the situation clearly, overcome evil with good, be reconciled to your "enemy," and more. We have 6 weeknight life group options and 1 Sunday morning ABF option to choose from. If you would like help choosing a group to join, please reply to this email or talk with Kevin Tower. Childcare is available during the Sunday morning ABF time slot. The morning ABF meets upstairs in the gymnasium at 9:15am.
9. HOUSEKEEPING: We are asking parents to remind children to take care of the church building and clean up after themselves especially when food items are consumed. We would also appreciate any help in keeping the donation food table area clean and neat. Snacks can be taken home, but please remind kids not to open snacks at the food table and leave them out but rather keep a great spirit of hospitality and welcoming throughout our building by cleaning up after themselves. We love kids at TBC, and we want to keep a homey feel, but we would appreciate parents to help with these conversations both at home and at church. Thank you!
