Today I want to chat about the Harvest Banquet coming up Saturday, Nov 8th. What a unique opportunity for friends, co-workers, neighbors, and family to hear the Gospel in a safe, fun and delicious evening. This Gospel outreach is what Summit 2 showed us as we reach out to our mission focus group who are from the community. Who do you plan to invite? The tickets are only $10 each and are available now. This price is half as much as you would pay in a restaurant and the menu will be fabulous! Begin now in lining up your guests...and if you can afford it treat your guests to the evening by paying for their meal.

Pastor Bim, our Pastor Emeritus, has been teaching us on Sunday nights about the sin of narcissism. It's been soooo helpful! There are many authority structures in life, ordained by God such as: Government -- people, husband -- wife, parent -- children, pastor -- people, employer -- employee, commander -- soldier, teacher -- student and probably others. What if your authority is flawed, selfish, unwise, unconcerned about your well-being? Can God use this situation for good? What should our response to such an authority be? What if they become dangerous toward us? What should our response be toward them? The study of Saul is an inspired account of such a leader. We live in the real world where we face such trials. This study can help us know God's will and be pleasing to Him in such difficult situations. Join us Sunday evening at 6 pm.

Awesome weekend coming up! We are in week 3 of the message series "Jesus Said Whaaat?" Join us at 10:30 am Sunday as we continue looking at the Sermon on the Mount. It's counter-cultural for sure and gives us the mind of the Lord on a variety of life issues. On Sunday evening Pastor Rowley will look at the characteristics of a narcissist by studying the life of King Saul. If you work for, are married to, or have a necessary relationship with a person who has these characteristics, how does God want us to relate and respond? A narcissist tries to control and intimidate those around them by making them feel like a failure or inferior. We can learn how God would have a believer relate and respond by watching godly people like Jonathan and David as they interact with Saul.

Well this Sunday is sooooo special here at TBC. It is the 45th anniversary of Truth Baptist Church. What a blessing and joy to celebrate! It is also our time to honor Pastor Bim and Deanna's 45 faithful years here as Bim founded & pastored TBC! On Sunday, Pastor Rowley officially steps back from serving as senior pastor and steps into retirement. He is being conferred by our church to become Pastor Emeritus of TBC. That means that our church loves and appreciates Pastor Bim and with deep respect wants him to enjoy a different pace of ministry. But as he cares to, he will still serve the church teaching, doing his regular ABF, his life group, and more.
They will be honored on Sunday, and there is a lunch in their honor in the gym after church.
