Announcements & Connection Links 5/20/23

Dear TBC Family and Friends,

We had such a great week of sunshine and nice weather! Although today as it rains all I can think about is the fact that I will have to mow my lawn again. At this point, I don't know what's worse, mowing the lawn or snow-blowing the driveway. But I do praise God that I at least have a riding lawn mower that I borrowed from Pastor Rowley :).

Please join us tomorrow for corporate worship. There is a lot going on! We will be observing communion. This is an intentional worshipful time where we can focus our minds and hearts to remember what Jesus has done on the cross for us.

We will also be continuing our series in Ecclesiastes. Solomon will specifically bring up the meaninglessness of pursuing and obtaining wisdom. One would think that the pursuit of wisdom and gaining it would be the one task that would prove to be worthy, but it is only worthy when there is a proper perspective on gaining wisdom and the purpose of the pursuit is correct. Join us tomorrow to hear about the place of wisdom in our lives.

Immediately after service, we will have an info meeting on a potential short-term mission trip to Nicaragua down in the Junior Church classroom.

Also, tomorrow in place of our Sunday Evening service we will be having a family meeting where I will provide some updates on our direction for the men's and women's ministry. Alisa and Hannah will also use some of the family meeting time to hold a VBS meeting and provide church-wide VBS information. Finally, we will end our night with a pizza fellowship. Tomorrow is a night you don't want to miss!

Looking forward to worshipping with everyone tomorrow.

In Christ,

Pastor John

The world teaches us to revolve our actions, thoughts, and beliefs around ourselves. “It’s all about you!” we are encouraged to think. In the world’s philosophy, we become the author and hero of our story. But the Bible teaches a different view, one where another hero—the actual Author of life—takes center stage. In the book of Job, God asserts his preeminence and displays his power. Join Francis Chan in this eight-session series on Job as he explores the overriding truth that we exist not for ourselves but to glorify the God who deserves all worship and praise. - Anyone is invited to join.
